Our founder, Sarah Louise Ryan has joined My Friend Charlie, offline events specialist, helping singles get offline and get connected, as Resident Dating Expert.
Sarah has almost a decade of experience as an expert in the global dating industry, helping single professionals navigate the path to partnering via events, matchmaking and date coaching and we know all too well how glad she is to help singles at MFC successfully navigate meeting in person.
Sarah said this of joining MFC:
"Joining My Friend Charlie at such an exciting time of exponential nationwide growth is so exciting. It means I can help singles across the UK understand the hurdles holding them back from attracting love into their lives. Also, I am here to advise on how to successfully navigate singles events so attendees can make the most out of finding new friends, making new memories and potentially connecting with someone on a romantic level. What's not to love?".
Sarah started out in the dating industry as a matchmaker at a mayfair dating agency running around London grabbing coffee and getting to know busy singles who are time poor but serious in their search for their significant other. Having moved to NYC and then on to running a global dating agency, Sarah began to really understand the intricacies and dilemmas about dating in big cities with single professionals suffering online dating burnout and seriously looking to get offline.
A few years later, with many matches and singles events under her belt Sarah went on to write about dating and relationships for many publications and has a radio show called Love Lessons, as show where Sarah interviews other experts about dating, relationships, the modern path to partnering and starting over again as a confident singles.
Founder of My Friend Charlie, Charlie Spoke Says:
“I'm so thrilled to welcome Sarah to the MFC team as our Resident Dating Expert. She joins at a very exciting time and will be influential in growing the business beyond London & Bristol to a nationwide brand.”
After a short stint basing herself in Manhattan, NYC, Ryan then moved on to matchmaking singles on a global scale, travelling the world meeting successful professionals who were time poor but serious in their search for that special someone. And, in 2016 was a finalist for Expert of the year at our industry awards.
After experiencing her own heartbreak, in order to heal the hurt and help others, Sarah wrote a blog called the 30 Days of Heartbreak which she shared with 3.5k people every day, for 30 days. Sarah said of this blog "loved me back to life and helped others do the same". I was nominated for Dating Writer of the year at the UK Blog Awards.
Skip to 2019 and on into 2020 Sarah is now a radio presenter with her Love Lessons show airing on Women's Radio Station - interviewing love experts from all around the world about how they help others navigate dating and relationships.
